At the start of the campaign we all knew that Thibaut Courtois was returning from his successful loan spell with Atletico Madrid. This meant something had to change. Unfortunately for Petr Cech, it’s led to him being the Belgians under-study, starting just 6 Premier League games all season.
Talks of a move to Besiktas gaining momentum, the awareness of Cech’s departure has led to transfer talk for players moving in the other direction – with a few surprise mentions on the ‘target list’.
Englishman Rob Green, #1 at the now relegated QPR, is reported to be the main target to become the new Chelsea number 2 ‘keeper. Valued at an estimated low of £2 million, Green is highly likely to leave Rangers in the summer, and could be Chelsea’s second quick summer deal behind the young Brazilian, Nathan.
