Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Match Preview

Chelsea host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge this weekend knowing three points would secure their first league title for five years.

The Blues enter this weekend having been top, or joint-top, of the Barclays Premier League all season, and Mourinho’s men could have the title wrapped up with three games to spare, should they defeat Palace on Sunday.

Chelsea head into the fixture unbeaten since New Years Day and on the back of a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday night, whilst Palace have lost their last two against Hull and West Brom.

Goals from Oscar and Cesc Fabregas saw Chelsea claim a 2-1 victory over The Eagles in an explosive encounter at Selhurst Park, which saw Damien Delaney and Cesar Azpilicueta both receive red cards.

Mourinho has confirmed that Diego Costa will miss Sunday’s fixture, and the Spanish international may miss the rest of the season should the Blues clinch the title this weekend.

Loic Remy is fit, following a spell on the sidelines due to a calf injury, whilst Thibaut Courtois could return in goal.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew remains confident that defender Joel Ward will overcome a shin injury, but both Frazier Campbell, who scored against the Blues at Selhurst Park, and Marouane Chamakh remain on the sidelines.
