Andreas Christensen set for Monchengladbach loan

According to The Mirror, Andreas Christensen is set to move to Borussia Monchengladbach on loan for the 2015-16 season.

The young Danish centre back is looking for first-team football, and Chelsea believe Germany is the place.

Last season, Chelsea shipped Thorgan Hazard out to Monchengladbach, before he made the switch permanent.

However, Thomas Kalas, a fellow Chelsea centre back, had a poor loan at Koln without getting much play time, which will hopefully be avoided by Christensen.

Christensen has been rumoured to Germany for awhile now, but the deal is reportedly almost done.

Chelsea won’t send Christensen on loan until he pens a new deal, but the Mirror reports he is playing hard-ball over the new contract,

Jose Mourinho rates Christensen very highly and sees him as part of his future plans, making him desperate to tie the young defender down long term.

Christensen has just over a year left on his contract, but is reluctant to sign an extension as he is worried about a lack of future playtime at Stamford Bridge.
