The number five seems to be a lucky one around Stamford Bridge. Founded in 1905, won our first league title in 1955, Jose Mourinho then won our next one in 2005, and are now champions of England in 2015. In fact, the Blues even won the Champions League in the fifth month of 2012.
Over the course of the past 10 years, the West London clubs have seen many players come and go. In the past two seasons, long serving Frank Lampard has departed alongside Club legend Didier Drogba who returned for a season following his departure after Chelsea’s dramatic European glory three years ago.
Of course, it has been a bumpy ride. It never worked for Andre Villas Boas, and Roberto Di Matteo was probably given less time than he should have following being the man that brought European success to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
