Costa seeks shock Atletico return

According to reports in Spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea striker Diego Costa is looking for an unlikely move back to Atletico Madrid this summer.

Despite the Spanish international having an instant impact at Stamford Bridge this season, the rainy weather, language barrier and food has left Costa feeling unsettled in England; and reportedly seeking a shock move back to his former club.

Marca suggests that Costa has even been in talks with Atletico over a potential move back to the Spanish capital this summer, revealing he would take a significant wage cut to force a transfer.

However, Costa was an integral part of Chelsea’s title winning squad this season, scoring 20 goals in 26 league games; and it’s almost certain that Blues boss Jose Mourinho will block any attempts made by Atletico.

And with his current contract at the Bridge not expiring until 2019, it’s unlikely that the £27m striker is leaving in a hurry.
