Courtois: Falcao would be great at Chelsea

According to The Guardian, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has encouraged his manager, Jose Mourinho, to sign his former Atletico Madrid team-mate, Radamel Falcao.

It is been widely reported that the Blues are set to sign the Colombian on a one year loan deal from Ligue 1 outfit, AS Monaco. Courtois has expressed how keen he is to re-unite with the 29-year-old.

When they were together at the Calderon in 2012, the pair won the Europa League, with Courtois keeping a clean-sheet and Falcao netting twice in the final.

The following summer, Falcao was sold to AS Monaco in a deal worth £50million, before going on to have a horrible loan spell at Manchester United last season.

I don’t know anything about (a transfer), but of course I know Falcao very well,’ said Courtois. ‘He’s a very good boy, he’s a good friend of mine, so if he comes, great.

That’s the decision of the club. But he would be a very good player for Chelsea.
