Gustavo interested in Chelsea move

According to London 24, Luiz Guastavo is keen to move to one of European’s elite teams, with Chelsea a possible destination. However at this current time, the Brazilian international is happy at his current side Wolfsburg.

For the Bundesliga side, the holding midfielder had a very solid season last campaign. The team as a whole was very impressive, finishing the Bundesliga season in 2nd place, behind champions Bayern Munich.

Since falling out of favour at Bayern Munich and joining Wolfsburg, Gustavo has been an important player at the Volkswagen Arena – the stadium he’s been playing his home games at since 2013.

Beforehand, Chelsea have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, alongside fellow Premier League side Manchester United who have reportedly lined up a £33m bid to trigger the release clause in his contract.

When Gustavo was asked by German media outlet Sports Bild if he was keen on a move to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and co, Gustavo said a move like that would be a ‘gift.’

“If I were to be able to once again have the chance to go to such a club, then that would be like a gift to me,” he said. “However, I also know what I have at VfL. I am incredibly happy here.”
