Chelsea join the race for World Cup Winner Gotze

Chelsea have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign unsettled Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze, according to reports in the Metro.

The German international, who scored the winning goal in last summers World Cup final, has been linked with a move away from Bayern this summer after his agent criticised the clubs management team earlier this week.

Premier League rivals Arsenal have been monitoring the midfielder for some time, whilst United have reportedly been in talks with Gotze and teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Mourinho is thought to be a fan of the 23-year-old and was linked with him a number that of times during his reign at Real Madrid.

Bayern are reportedly willing to let the youngster go for a fee in the region of £47m-£50m.
