Pre season has officially kicked off for Chelsea as our squad fly out to Montreal, Canada today (Wednesday). Chelsea will be situated in North America for the next two weeks with the squad also flying to USA for some tough pre season friendlies.
Montreal is where Chelsea will be training over the next two weeks. The squad will have double training sessions for most of the first week out in North America. Our Copa America stars won’t join up with the squad until 22nd July; these include Juan Cuadrado, Radamel Falcao, Willian and Filipe Luis.
Chelsea vs New York Red Bulls
Thursday 23rd July 1.10am UK Time
On the same day (22nd July) Chelsea will open their International Champions Cup campaign against New York Red Bulls. The match will take place at the Red Bull Arena and will commence at 8:10 pm local time (Thursday 23rd July 1.10am UK Time). After the game the squad will fly back to our training base in Montreal.
Chelsea vs Paris Saint-Germain
Saturday 25th July 6.10pm local time (11.10pm UK time)
Chelsea will then face Paris Saint-Germain in the North Carolina city of Charlotte. Kick-off for our second game of the tour is Saturday 25th July 6.10pm local time (11.10pm UK time). This match will be played at the Bank of America stadium. The venue has a capacity of 73,000. Like after our first friendly the team will fly back to Montreal after the game.
Chelsea vs Barcelona
Wednesday 29th July 1.10am UK time
Our final game in North America sees us face the toughest test possible, Barcelona. This will be the first time the teams have played against each other since our memorable night in the Camp Nou, where Torres scored a very late goal to confirm our spot in the Champions League final, which we later went on to win! This will be played in the FedEx Field in Washington DC for an 8.10pm local time kick off on Tuesday 28th July (Wednesday 29th July 1.10am UK time).
The team will fly back to London directly from Washington to start preparations for our first competitive match of the 2015/16 season where we will face London rivals Arsenal at Wembley for the Community Shield.
After that our final pre season friendly will take place.
Chelsea vs Fiorentina
Wednesday 5th August 8pm UK time
We will face Fiorentina in our final game of the International Champions Cup at Stamford Bridge. This match takes place on Wednesday 5th August and kick-off will be 8pm.
