It’s official, after weeks of speculation, Radamel Falcao has joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.

Upon agreeing terms, the Colombian said: ‘I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.’

Colombia’s number nine is coming off of a disappointing 2014/2015 season which was spent on loan at Manchester United. For the Red Devils, Falcao scored just four goals in twenty-nine appearances as he helped Louis van Gaal’s side achieve a top four finish. Yet, United opted to let Falcao go back to Monaco upon the conclusion of last season instead of exercising the option to buy the player.
Upon mixed feelings amongst Chelsea supporters in reaction to the deal’s confirmation, one thing must be said: José Mourinho has a plan. Welcome Falcao!
