According to the Daily Mail, Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has agreed to take a 50% pay cut, so he could be given the chance to prove himself in the Premier League, and get rid of the ‘flop’ label that is currently sitting over his head.
On Friday, Falcao’s loan deal to the Premier League champions was confirmed.

This move has given the ex-Atletico Madrid striker another chance to show the world that the Premier League is for him. His aim is to become a hit in England, proving his form on loan at Manchester United was a blip.
The 29-year-old was earning £285,000 a week at Old Trafford last season. At Stamford Bridge however, this will drop to £140,000.
Falcao talked to the Official Chelsea website about the move
I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.
Chelsea have been given the option to buy Falcao on a permanent deal next summer if they feel they want it. If he finds that form again under Mourinho that made him one of the best strikers in the world, there’s no doubt he’ll become a permanent blue.
In 29 games for Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United, El Tigre only managed to find the net four times, so the Dutch boss didn’t take the chance to sign the striker on a full time basis.
Falcao had suffered with an achilles injury, just before his move to Manchester United. This could have affected his playing ability. Now, he’s had 18 months to recover, which is a standard time of recovery for this injury.
Prior to his move to Monaco, Falcao was deadly. During his days at Atletico Madrid, Falcao made 67 appearances, and found the net an astonishing 52 times.
Falcao move to the Calderon in 2011, following deadly form for Porto, scoring 41 goals in 48 appearances – that’s deadly.
