Juventus shift attention to Cuadrado

Juventus just can’t make their mind up about which Chelsea player they want, can they?

Following unsuccessful pursuits of Oscar; who’s representatives revealed he had no interest in leaving Chelsea; Salah, who Juve have now said they have no interest in, and Willian; the Serie A champions have now turned their focus to Juan Cuadrado.

Speaking to Mediaset Premium, managing director Giuseppe Marotta said he would consider a loan move for the Colombian, but revealed he was no longer interested in Salah.

“We are open to all possibilities,” Marotta said.

If Chelsea were open to releasing him on loan, we’d be very happy with that.

When asked about the links with Salah and Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic, Marotta replied: “We have not moved for them and are not among the contenders.

“They will play for a team that wears stripes in a stadium in Milan.”

Cuadrado made the £23m move from Fiorentina to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window last season, but has failed to make much of an impact in England.

Despite only making four starts since his arrival, Blues boss Jose Mourinho revealed last month that he had “high hopes” that Cuadrado would return to his best next season.

“Cuadrado is not going anywhere this summer,” Mourinho told DirecTV Sports.

“People don’t know Cuadrado yet, I have seen him many times when we were both in Italy, me at Inter and him at Udinese.

“Because of that I have a lot of hopes for him for next season. I hope in the Copa America he can regain his self-esteem, his ego and that he has that joy of playing.”
