Nicolas Anelka returns to Muambai as a player-manager

Former Chelsea striker, Nicolas Anelka, has announced he will play at Muambai for the second consecutive season, this time as a player manager.

The Frenchman scored two goals last year, in the inaugural edition of the eight team league. This time round, he decided to take the similar dual role he has had in 2012 while playing in Shangai with his former teammate Didier Drogba.

Nicolas Anelka, has played in several clubs in the Premier League, including: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion. He expressed his delightement of being given the opportunity to have a dual role at the club and said in the statement:

“”I would like to say thank you to the Mumbai City FC staff for giving me the opportunity to coach the club. We are all very excited to start this new season. I’m personally very eager to take on this new role for the club and put a strong competitive team on the pitch”
