Abdul Rahman Baba is a 21 year old left back from the African country, Ghana. He is currently playing for the German side FC Augsburg.
His first club was Asante Kotoko in Ghana and he made his debut for the side in 2011. Baba Rahman played at the Ghanaian side between 2011-2012 and he went on to make 25 domestic league appearances in that time. In the 2012 season, Baba Rahman was amongst the final contenders for the league’s Discovery of the Year Award, he eventually lost to Joshua Oniku. This caught the eye of a couple of teams in the Premier League, and Manchester City and Arsenal made enquiries for him.
However he decided to join newly promoted Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth on 12th June 2012. In the local derby against 1. FC Nuremberg on 11th August 2014, he scored his first and second goal for the German side. During his two year stay he made 44 domestic appearances, scoring 2 goals.
In 2014 he made the switch to FC Augsburg and is currently still playing there. Since joining he has made 31 domestic appearances. At the end of the 2014/15 season, the Bundesliga compiled stats for all the players across the league.
Baba Rahman had an average of 2.9 interceptions, 3.5 clearances, 1.4 dribbles, 0.5 shot blocks and 4.8 tackles (the greatest tackle rate by any player in the league) per game.
In total he has made 9 caps for Ghana Under 20s and in 2014 he was promoted to the Ghanaian first team, he’s gone on to make a total of 11 appearances.
