Kurt Zouma has spoken openly to the media and told them Chelsea need to forget what happened last season and focus purely on retaining the title this season.
Chelsea were deserved winners last season and for a lot of the campaign, nobody looked like they would catch us.
“Last season is finished and now we have to show that next season will be ours to win again.”
It wasn’t easy to switch off in the summer because last season was really nice and to relax after that was difficult.
“But in another way it was easier because we could sleep like a champion. I was very proud. When you’re a champion you can sleep for one whole day, 24 hours! But now we have to be real, now we have to be focussed on the new season.”
Mourinho has given the players an extended holiday. They return to training today and jet off for pre season to Montreal tomorrow.
