Juventus ramp up interest in Ramires

Italian giants Juventus are credited with an interest with another Chelsea player. This time, the interest is about Brazilian midfielder Ramires.

After the departure of Andrea Pirlo, the Italian Champions are looking at creative spark in their midfield. In the past weeks, there were reports linking the club with Oscar and then Juan Cuadrado.

The 28-year-old midfielder is one of the most coveted box-to-box midfielders. Never the one to shy away from putting the hard yards on the pitch, Ramires is a sort of player that fits Jose Mourinho’s scheme of things perfectly.

The Brazilian joined the Blues from Benfica in 2010. He has made 147 Premier League appearances so far and has established himself as one of the key players for the Blues. He was influential in the last year Premier League title run.

Although he started just 11 league games, Ramires is highly valued by the boss Mourinho. At the outset, it may appear that the Brazilian is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and a deal would be easy.

The Blues boss Mourinho, however, is a huge admirer of Ramires’ versatility and will definitely try to block any move for the Brazilian. He has just two years left on his contract and sources at the club indicate that the club is willing to open talks on a new deal.

Juventus feel that they can land Ramires on loan or a permanent deal. Mourinho may have different thoughts on this matter and will, obviously, have the last say.
