Begovic – A great performance from our stand in keeper, a string of 4 great saves during the first half shows why he is a world class goalkeeper. There was very little he could do about the goals he conceded. 8
Ivanovic – Another game to forget for the Serb, he made too many mistakes and was at fault for the 2nd and 3rd goals. Looked like he was still on his holidays. 2
Cahill – A very poor first half performance, improved in the second half when paired with a faster partner in Zouma. 4
Terry (c) – Looked lethargic and slow in the first half, seemed to defend out past the box for the second goal similar to one of the goals at Swansea – City’s attackers were just too quick for him. 3
Azpilicueta – Played well individually but got let down buy his team mates, and if one person has a bad day in defence it has a domino effect through the entire back four. Less backward passes please. 5
Ramires – Looked like he won a competition to play for Chelsea, would be better suited in the middle of the midfield. 3
Matic – Another individual to play well, but probably could of done more in the middle of the field. 5
Willian – Too much running across the pitch, needs to work on his end product and give us some performances like the end of last season. I would like to see him take on more defenders on make more crosses, we don’t get enough width from Willian maybe we should give Victor Moses a shot. 5
Fabregas – Dominate on the ball, but couldnt provide much with it, except the wrongly called offside goal. He had a better second half when he started playing deeper, but we really missed Oscar. 5
Hazard – Another bad day for Hazard, we expect more from him – looks tired. 4
Costa – Barely got any scraps to feed off, I felt the elbow to his head was very unfair – should of been a red. Too much whining at the ref, your the striker – put the ball in the net.
Subs
Zouma – We looked a much more confident team with him on the pitch, he seems to sniff out danger fast and has the legs to get there. Should have started the game, he is ready to take over and become a regular centre back. 7
Cuadrado – I don’t think he had enough time to really make a meaningful impact in the game, he did not add the width we needed.
Falcao – Much like Cuadrado he failed to make a real positive impact to the game
Chelsea really need more defenders after Nathan Ake left, we only have 5 defenders in the squad and there is not enough competition in defence. I hope the arrival of Baba Rahman will create the completion required to raise our game. I would love to see Rahman start the next game and see Azpilicueta at right back. I would also like to see Zouma start instead of Terry.
