Chelsea have today completed a deal with Southampton for the permanent signing of Oriol Romeu.

It’s very good to be a part of this club.I was looking for a good club and for something new in my career. I spent two years out on loan and needed something permanent. I think Southampton is the right club for me.
Romeu, 23, joins Southampton after being a Chelsea player for four years. In his time at Chelsea he made 33 appearances, scoring the 1 goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However he has spent the last two seasons away from Chelsea on loan in Spain with Valencia and then in Germany with Stuttgart.
Romeu was signed by Andre Villas-Boas in 2011. AVB, Di Matteo and Benitez all used him as a squad player however since Mourinho has returned to West London he hasn’t made a single appearance for Chelsea.
