Kenedy: Mourinho is the ‘best in the world’

Chelsea’s Brazilian starlet Kenedy has expressed his gratitude to Jose Mourinho after the winger opened his goalscoring account for the Blues in the midweek win over Walsall.

Kenedy set up Ramires’ opener then scored his side’s third goal himself as Chelsea beat League One Walsall 1-4 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old seemed particularly emotional following his first goal in blue and in the wake of the game, he has thanked manager Jose Mourinho for the opportunity to impress:

Jose Mourinho guides me, and he speaks what I have to do. I am very happy to be trained by the best in the world.

I have much to learn from him for the experience & for all that he has won. I just have to thank Mourinho for the opportunity.

The first goal will stay as a mark in my life, it is unforgettable. A childhood dream.

I played with Oscar, Ramires, Willian & Costa in video-games and now I have the honor of sitting next to them – a dream come true.

Kenedy has been a bit-part player for Chelsea so far this season, mainly appearing as a substitute, but is clearly happy to try and earn his place in Mourinho’s first team plans.

Furthermore, with Mourinho reportedly under pressure at Chelsea to play a larger number of younger players, Kenedy could be the raw talent that the fans and club are looking for.
