Pedro and Willian to miss clash with Arsenal

Jose Mourinho has confirmed in his post-match press conference that both Pedro and Willian will be out of Chelsea’s game against Arsenal ‘for sure’.

Pedro picked up a muscular injury in training yesterday and was declared unfit for tonight’s win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Spaniard had to watch from the stands. It was unsure whether he’d be available for our game against Arsenal but Mourinho has now confirmed he won’t be. However Mourinho didn’t give any clues to when he’d be back.

Willian got off to a great start in tonight’s match after Eden Hazard skied a penalty early in the first half, moments later in the 15th minute Willian put Chelsea 1-0 up via a free kick, however it looked to initially be a cross rather than a shot.

The Brazilian then looked positive before picking up an injury. Willian was holding his hamstring for a couple of minutes and looked to carry on, however Mourinho took no risks and took the winger off. He was able to walk off the pitch unaided though so hopefully that’s a sign it’s nothing too serious. Like Pedro, Mourinho confirmed Willian will miss the London derby vs Arsenal. It hasn’t been confirmed how much action Willian will miss yet.
