Dynamo Kyiv 0-0 Chelsea – Player Ratings

Defensively we seem to be getting more organised. We fielded our fastest team and the game was played at a frightening pace, if we can reproduce last night’s performance domestically Chelsea will run over everyone.

Begovic – Another clean sheet! Rejoice! Made some great interceptions, pushed out some dangerous crosses into areas away from attacking players. Great communication with his defenders, he was shouting orders and organising them the whole game. 8

Zouma – Much like Azpilicueta he was very alert, his yellow card was a bit careless because Ramires was covering the player. It was a great idea to play him at right back, Kiev broke dangerously many times and I don’t think we had anyone else with the pace to stop the attacks. 7

Cahill – Disciplined performance, always alert of the dangers and responded well. 7

Terry – A great performance from the captain, it reminded me of a few games last season – when he surprised us with how he handled the pace of the game. 7

Azpilicueta – Alert. Didn’t take any chances, one of the best performers of the night. 8

Ramires – Soldier. Will be key figure in helping Chelsea get back to winning ways. 8

Matic – Matic controlled the game, Kiev broke forward dangerously only a handful of times. 8

Willian – We are lucky to have this man, his work rate is exceptional and his play in the final third has improved. He is taking more shots at goal and crossing better. His pass completion was great, tempted to call him our man of the match. Was unlucky to see his free kick come off the woodwork. 8.5

Fabregas – A much better performance from Fabregas, unlucky to not win a penalty. 7

Hazard – Slowly rediscovering his form, hit the bar in the first half from a beautiful curling shot. 6.5

Costa – Led the line well, its good to have him back. 6.5

Subs

Oscar – We needed to maintain the pressure and he did that for us, it’s unfortunate we failed to find the winner. 6

We were very unfortunate to not get all 3 points, the pressure is now on to insure we win all our home games to get to the next round.
