“Ampadu didn’t play very well in that position” – Sarri continues with unusual honestly

Ethan Ampadu stepped into midfield for Chelsea against Sheffield Wednesday, and most people thought he did well. Not Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues boss said to the media before the game last night that he “didn’t play very well” in an usually frank statement for a Premier League manager.

To be fair, he also says that it’s a difficult position to play and that Ampadu is just a young player.

But it’s still radically different from the relentless positivity that most managers pour out without a second thought.

He’s different this one, that’s for sure.
