Cech believes he left Chelsea at the right time

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has opened up about his move to Arsenal in the Summer, claiming it was the right time to leave even if it was a tough decision at the time.

Cech made the switch from West to North London after 11 successful years at Chelsea, and the Czech Republic International has seen the two teams take very different paths this season.

The goalkeeper told The Sun “I had to take the decision to leave, even if it was not easy.”

The 33 year-old was second favourite to the returning Thibaut Courtois under Jose Mourinho last season, and took the decision to become Arsenal’s number one in the summer.

The time has shown that the decision was the right one. Every team can have a time when it goes badly.

Cech suffered a Mourinho sacking in his time at Chelsea, and is no stranger to the work of Guus Hiddink, but the goalkeeper believes the problem goes much further than just Jose Mourinho.

Always when it seemed Chelsea would rise, they fell. So this problem is probably bigger than everybody supposed.
