Former Newcastle & Chelsea striker Demba Ba has slammed life at Chelsea under recently sacked Jose Mourinho as exhausting.
Ba made the switch to Stamford Bridge from St James’ Park after an impressive record at the Toon which saw him score 29 goals in 58 games. The switch was completed in January 2013.
In the second half of his first season in West London, the Senegalese forward made 22 appearances, netting on six occasions.
However, that was the summer when Mourinho returned to his beloved Chelsea, and immediately brought Samuel Eto’o. Ba was then moved further down the pecking order with the Portuguese boss opting to use the trio of Eto’o, Andre Schurrle and Fernando Torres instead.
Ba departed the current Premier League champions in 2014, having only made 19 appearances since Mourinho came in, joining Turkish side Besiktas. However, the striker who is now playing his football in China believes he knows why Mourinho lost the players within the dressing room.
When he loses, you feel as if the sky as fallen on his head.
It’s rare for him to do three years in a row.
For a player, it’s so tiring, exhausting.
Chelsea are yet to announce who Mourinho’s successor is at this time, with reports linking Guus Hiddink with the job short-term, and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone for the future.
