Henry comments on Chelsea players pride

Thierry Henry former Arsenal striker and now pundit for Sky Sports says that Chelsea players should wear the club’s shirt with pride.

According to the Mirror at a Facebook event in London, Thierry Henry revealed that he thinks that the current players at Chelsea should be to blame for the current situation that Chelsea FC find themselves in.

People are having a go at Mourinho, whether you like him or not, that’s a different story. People are saying: ‘Did he lose the dressing room? Did he not? Is it the tactics? Is it the right players? Is it [Kurt] Zouma? Is is [John] Terry? Should he start with this or that?

After Chelsea’s latest match and defeat to Leicester City they find themselves 16th place in the Premier League just one point off the relegation place.

For me, Chelsea having a bad season is finishing fifth. But they have lost nine games so far. Nine games. I never thought I would be saying that and we are not even half way through the season. I just don’t get it.

After Chelsea’s ninth defeat of the season on Monday away from Leicester City, reports emerged that owner Roman Abramovich called an ’emergency meeting’ to discuss manager Josè Mourinho’s future. To which it was reported from Sky Sports News that rumours were false.

It seems like it’s difficult for them and yes, you can have a go at the boss, but I also think you can have a massive go at the players at the moment. Both of them are in a situation that I don’t know what it is like because I’ve never been in that situation like that.

Cesc said it, we had bad seasons at Arsenal, but we managed to finish high up. But I think it is time for the players to be professional about it- where is your pride?

Chelsea’s next match will be at home to Sunderland AFC on Sunday 19th December at 15:00 (GMT). A win could see Chelsea move to 14th place in the Premier League table if other results go their way.
