Preview
This weekend Chelsea travel to North London to take on table toppers Arsenal. In the meeting between the two sides already this season an off form Chelsea side still triumphed 2-0 thanks to a first Premier League goal for Zouma and then a Calum Chambers own goal.
Chelsea are currently on a 8 match unbeaten run against Arsenal having won 5 of those matches. The Gunners are currently on an 8 hour and 2 minute goalless run against Chelsea too and if they fail to score on Sunday it will be their longest ever run without scoring against a team in the Premier League.
Arsenal seem to fail to turn up against us in recent years and Sunday’s game will be their best chance for a long time to grab a win against us but if Chelsea can reuse the fight shown against Everton, anything is possible.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, Mesut Ozil is back for Arsenal which will give them plenty more options going forward and will make it a lot harder for the Chelsea defence.
Come on Chelsea!
Match details
Sunday, 24th January, kick off at 4:00pm at The Emirates on Sky Sports 1.
Recent form
In their last 5 matches, Arsenal have won 3 (Bournemouth, Newcastle and Sunderland). The other 2 matches ended in draws vs Liverpool and Stoke.
Chelsea have won 2 of their last 5 games (Crystal Palace and Scunthorpe) and drawn 3 (Manchester United, West Brom and Everton).
Team news
Mesut Ozil is back fit and available for selction after missing Arsenal’s last match with a slight foot injury. Whereas Alexis Sanchez will be touch and go until kick off, however Arsene Wenger thinks he will be available to choose from. Coquelin, Welbeck and Rosicky are all out though.
For Chelsea, Hazard may make a return to action after being unavailable since our 3-0 win at Crystal Palace. Radamel Falcao is a doubt with a muscular injury.
My prediction
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea.
