Chelsea drawn away in the FA Cup fourth round

Following the comfortable 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup third round, Guus Hiddink’s side have been drawn away from home in the next round – against the winner of the Northampton/MK Dons replay.

The Blues, who were involved in the last tie pulled out in the draw, will be relishing a lower-league test yet again in the cup, something interim boss Hiddink is adamant he wants to win. The Dutchman, who has enjoyed a spell as temporary boss at Stamford Bridge, won this cup last time round beating Everton in the final at Wembley in 2009 with the winning goal coming from a certain Frank Lampard.

The tie will take place on the final weekend of the month could prove to be an upset of the next round should Chelsea be eliminated, but Hiddink and his players will feel fairly confident heading into the match.

Chelsea were eliminated in the fifth round of the FA Cup this time last year, against a bit of a better opposition in Manchester City. Hopefully, this time around, we’ll be able to progress further into the tournament.
