Chelsea midfielder linked with a move to China

Chelsea’s Brazlian midfielder Ramires has attracted interest from Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, and is poised to become the next player to leave the English Premier League, to join another footballing league which is full of more money.

Ramires signed for the West London club back in 2010 from Portuguese side Benfica in a deal worth £18m, and has not started a game for the current Premier League champions since Guus Hiddink came in to take interim charge following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Most recently, the Brazilian international wasn’t even in the matchday squad for Chelsea’s trip to North London to come up against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. It was only in October that the 28-year-old signed a new four-year-deal at Stamford Bridge, but changing of manager at the Bridge clearly hasn’t helped Ramires’ situation, and it doesn’t seem as though Hiddink is a fan of his services. Because he’s fallen down the pecking order, Chelsea may be a little more inclined to sell the Brazilian this summer, whilst hoping to make a small profit on the deal.

Dan Petrescu, a former Chelsea star, is now the manager at the Chinese club, and is ready to fork out £20m on Ramires to lure him over from the best league in England.
