Chelsea set to extend John Terry’s deal

It is being reported that Chelsea are interested in offering John Terry a contract extension already, to keep the captain at Stamford Bridge for yet another season.

Following the 3-3 draw with Everton in West London on Saturday, Terry spoke of his desire to stay at Chelsea and earn himself a new deal, whilst at the same time, Hiddink said a new contract extension for the defender is something he’d recommend to the board.

However, it seems as though the Chelsea hierarchy are one step ahead and have already planned to offer Terry a new deal.

No formal talking has commenced between Terry and Chelsea, but the Football Club do not want to let yet another highly-experienced player leave the club, and want Terry to stay where he is for the next 12 months – at least.

It’s constantly reported that the Blues have been lacking a leader type character in the dressing room this season, so getting rid of the one player who lives and breathes Chelsea would in my eyes be the wrong decision.
