Chelsea target Arsenal star should Hazard depart

With the future of Chelsea winger Eden Hazard in doubt with it being reported that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on him, the West London club have reportedly shown interest in Arsenal’s English international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a potential replacement.

Many managers across the board normally try to keep their players in the winter window, doing their business in the summer. However, with so many injuries around various clubs in the Premier League, adding to the fact that it’s anyone’s game this year, hierarchies around England are using the January window to their advantage.

The Blues have today showed an interest in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain from the Gunners as a replacement for Belgian star Hazard should he leave life at Stamford Bridge to go and work under his ‘idol’ Zinedine Zidane who was recently appointed as the new Real Madrid boss.

It’s been suggested that, because it’s January, Los Blancos will step up their interest in the former LOSC Lille man, who turned 25-years-old this week.

Should last season’s PFA Player of the Year head for the exit door at the current Premier League champions, the Gunners forward is certainly someone that Guus Hiddink and co. could potentially steal in this window.
