Chelsea to share Wembley Stadium with their rivals?

Matt Law of The Telegraph is reporting that Chelsea’s bid to have Wembley Stadium as their temporary stadium has been matched by rivals and fellow Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea were hopeful that they’d have sole use of the England National Team’s home ground whilst redevelopments at Stamford Bridge take place, by submitting a four-year bid. It’s rumoured that it’d cost the West London side around £15m per season, and it looks as though Tottenham have matched the bid placed by the current Premier League champions. If the bid to give only the Blues use of Wembley, Spurs could have seen themselves having to play their games in Milton Keynes.

However, Spurs have indeed submitted a bid, with optimism growing that they have enough reasoning for the Football Association to allow them use of Wembley at the same time, for just one season.

If both sides are made to share the famous stadium, the FA could recieve around £75m total for their efforts to grant permission.
