Chelsea verbally agree deal with Brazilian striker

According to reports on Tuesday night, an agreement was reached between the representatives of Alexandre Pato and Chelsea, led by Roman Abramovich’s right hand woman Marina Granovskaia.

Nothing official has been made yet, with this being only a verbal agreement, but the deal could be pushed through before the game against Arsenal in which Diego Costa will miss out through injury.

The talented forward has gone off the radar in recent years, playing football in his native Brazil. Pato won theGolden Boy award during his time at AC Milan and was once the hottest prospect in world football, but injuries have forced him to take a step back in his career.

The 26 year old joined Corinithians in the 2013 january transfer window, only a month after the Brazillian side beat Chelsea in the world club cup final. During his time at the Coringao he managed to get 9 goals in 30 domestic games, but in the summer of 2014, he was loaned out to Sao Paulo, where he looked to find his former self and got 19 goals in 59 domestic games, prominently playing out on the left.

Is Pato a good signing, or should we be looking at alternatives?
