Chelsea want former AC Milan striker

According to emerging reports today – including those from The Telegraph – Chelsea are interested in former AC Milan striker, Alexandre Pato.

Following a lack of goals throughout the season on average, interim boss Guus Hiddink has admitted that his side could do with a fresh striker in this current transfer window, seeing as both Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao are both struggling with constant injuries.

The report goes on to add that the current Premier League champions expressed an interest in AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca, with the Italian side reluctant to let the former Sevilla man depart this month. Another target for the Blues was potentially Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, but the Foxes are keen to keep hold of their record-breaker forward.

Pato, who has made it clear in the past that he wants to taste Premier League football, has become a priority for the West London outfit. The Brazilian’s current club, Corinthians, are ready to allow the 26-year-old striker to depart, but only if the reported fee of £10m is met, which is around £30m less than what Leicester want for Vardy.
