Nathan Ake wants first-team spot at Chelsea

Nathan Ake has openly admitted that he wants to be involved in the first-team at Chelsea, sooner rather than later into his career.

Ake has spoken of how strange it feels to look at the Premier League table to see that his current club, Watford, are higher than his parent club, but at the same time went on to discuss that he is focusing on helping and playing at Watford this season.

The Dutch international has played an important role in what has been a fairly successful season in the English top-flight, their first after being promoted from the Championship in the automatic position last year. In their return, The Hornets have taken some big results and settled into Premier League life well.

It is a bit odd but a good feeling in that I am here now! Of course it’s good to be higher in the table but I’m sure they will turn things around. When I left Chelsea I didn’t look forward too much. The first thing was to come here and start playing football. After that it’s about keeping on developing.

Of course I think I have a chance of getting into the Chelsea team at some point, otherwise we wouldn’t go there.

It was only at the beginning of the season when the Chelsea youngster was loaned out to the newcomers of the Premier League, with some fans questioning whether or not it was the right decision to loan Ake out away from Stamford Bridge, rather than using him.

The Blues’ next fixture in the Premier League is against Watford at Stamford Bridge, after heading to Stadium MK to come up against Championship opposition in MK Dons in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
