Premier League duo interested in the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’

According to the Daily Star, both Manchester United and Chelsea have been sending scouts to watch 19-year-old Benfica winger Goncalo Guedes, who is said to be valued at £45m.

Guedes, who has been called “The Next Cristiano Ronaldo’, has intrigued the interests of other big clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as French side Paris St-Germain & Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Guedes is under contract with Benfica till 2021 and his exit clause is worth £45m.

The Premier League duo have sent their scouts to watch Guedes five times already, with it being reported that both parties like what they saw.

Guedes has been on the books of Benfica since he was eight-years-old, but is getting frustrated with the constant comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo, and just wants to continue playing his football.

Back in November, the Portuguese international became the first player, since Ronaldo himself, to be called up to the national team at the age of 18.
