Redknapp wants Hiddink to sign former Arsenal striker

According to reports in The Express, former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp wants Guus Hiddink to sign ex-Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is currently a free agent following his release from the North London side.

Redknapp, who had the Togo international on his books at Spurs in 2011/12 season, is adamant that any club would be boosted by the arrival of Adebayor, who brings a goal scoring talent and a bag of Premier League experience to the table.

The report goes on to add that both Chelsea and fellow Premier League side Watford are interested in the services of Adebayor.

The former manager, whose most recent job was at Championship side Queens Park Rangers, has urged Chelsea’s interim boss Hiddink to express an interest in the striker, and a move would potentially go through with ease. The Blues are currently on the search for a back-up option for Diego Costa, as both Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao are both struggling with injuries.

If any manager rang me about signing Emmanuel Adebayor I’d have a simple message: take him until the end of the season. You can’t lose.
