Roundup: Who’s heading in and out of Stamford Bridge?

Yet again, you just can’t keep the constant rumours and reports away during a transfer window. A various amount of players have yet again been linked with moves towards Stamford Bridge, whilst stars who are currently on the books in West London could also be on the way out. So, why not make it easy and bring all the latest news to one piece, I hear you ask? Well, we’ve done just that. Via a report from The Independent, here is the latest news from the current Premier League champions.

To kick things off, it seems as though the deal to bring Alexandre Pato to Chelsea could be everything but confirmed. When you look at Diego Costa’s frequent injuries, you can tell that the Blues need a back-up – something former AC Milan striker can offer. With it being reported that the loan deal has been agreed, plus Loic Remy seemingly heading for the exit door, the confirmation will probably be around sooner than we think. Speaking last month, the 26-year-old had this to say about the Premier League.

One day I knew I would like to come to England because I think the championship is number one in the world.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been handed much less-wanted news from La Liga side Atletico Madrid, who’ve dealt a blow to the Blues who were interested in signing French international Antoine Griezmann, because of his electric form. The West London side were showing real intent by looking to submit a £60m bid, but it seems as though the player has clearly settled to life well at the Calderon, with the club in no hurry to sell their highly-rated forward. Speaking in the the media, Griezmann had this to say:

I am feeling very well at Atletico. This is a big club and I want to achieve great things here. I am ambitious and my goal is to win trophies here. I have become more mature. The club and my team-mates rely on me.

Next up, the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira seems to be all but done, as the player himself has confirmed to his current employers that, if he does leave the Ukranian side, his only interest would be a move to Merseyside, to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. In recent weeks, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi have all suffered with various knocks which has led to Klopp wanting to bring someone in. Liverpool may be faced to pay more than what they would have wished, with Shakhtar not budging past their £38m valuation of their highly-talented player.

Heading in the opposite direction, it seems as though Ramires could be cutting his time at Stamford Bridge into pieces, as he is edging closer to a move over to China. The 27-year-old has only recently signed a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, but since Guus Hiddink took interim charge, playing time for the Brazilian international has been limited. As recent as Sunday, the former Benfica midfielder was left out of Chelsea’s matchday squad for the game against Arsenal, as John Obi Mikel and Nemanja Matic partnered up to fulfil that deeper role.

Last but not least, French international Loic Remy is getting closer to sealing a loan move away from Stamford Bridge in order to pick up some game time, with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace tipped as the favourites to sign the striker. Remy has worked with Eagles boss Alan Pardew during the duos time at Newcastle United, and a reunion could be on the cards in South London. This deal would work for both parties, as the Club from SE25 have been lacking goals in recent games, and Connor Wickham has just been fined by the Football Association for an incident with Tottenham Hotspur defender, Jan Vertonghen.
