Pato to miss another 6 weeks of football

Chelsea’s new loan signing Alexandre Pato may not be fit to play for Chelsea for another 6 weeks claim The Express.

The club have assigned the Brazilian his own pre-season training programme. This will see him take part in two training sessions a day rather than one on most days.

The Blues have struggled this season and need to get back up the table quickly, with Pato unavailable for weeks it will be a while until he will be able to make an impact.

Pato hasn’t played a competitive game since the end of November and with Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy both out injured there is added pressure on Diego Coata to perform and stay fit.

However Pato has replaced Falcao in Chelsea’s Champions League knockout stage squad. But by the time he is fit Chelsea may have played both legs of our last 16 tie with PSG meaning we may already be out of the competition.

Yesterday Guus Hiddink spoke to the media at Cobham ahead of our match with Manchester United on Sunday.

He is getting his fitness, but not full fitness yet and he needs to be fine-tuned. We made a good plan. He will not be in for the upcoming few games. We want to have him fit, but not going too early for the risk of injury in this tough league.
