Which direction are Chelsea heading?

With Guus Hiddink reviving Chelsea once again were on the up with the longest unbeaten streak in the Premier League while in both FA Cup and still in the tie against runaway leaders in France in Paris Saint Germain the season is some-what being saved.

But the manager situation is still un resolved with Antonio Conte and Diego Simeone being the front runners for the place however Conte is believed to be in advanced talks according to reports in Italy. But what will these managers bring?

Diego Simeone – a fighter, wants his team to do everything to win. A passionate man that would get the best out of players such as Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa who he previously worked with at Atletico Madrid but also the chance that he could bring some players with him if he was to move to London such as Diego Godin to replace the expected out going of club legend John Terry.

Antonio Conte – Rebuilt Juventus to get back into the Europe’s elite category and currently Italy’s national team coach heading towards Euro 2016 this summer in France could be one of his biggest challenges yet. However the players we have been rumoured with are players such as Candreva and with our current numbers in attacking midfield looks like an unnecessary signing. However there is controversy surrounding Conte especially surrounding match fixing and his tendency to quit. Conte left Juventus in 2014 and is currently in charge of Italy.

What would the Chelsea board prefer?

After sacking much loved manager Jose Mourinho the board would most likely not want a manager like him in Diego Simeone especially with rifts between Jose and the board being publicly believed by most however after going against most fans they might feel a man like him might restore trust within the fans towards the board and it has previously worked with a fiery manager in Jose Mourinho being the clubs most successful manager. Conte is a much calmer manager in comparison and possibly the better for rebuilding a club and most likely to suit the boards’ needs.

What the fans want?

Considering most of the Chelsea fans wanted Jose to stay the board are already trying to recover a bad relationship especially with the boards explanation and especially the words of Emenalo on Chelsea TV shortly after. However the fans mostly have a favourite in Diego Simeone especially being very Mourinho like he would go down as a fan favourite however Conte will be expected to be well received too if he was to move to the Champions. Although fans would happily take Guus Hiddink on a permanent despite the dutchman expected to be retiring. But its likely any 3 managers will be welcome by Chelsea fans unlike when a certain Rafa Benitez joined as interim a few years ago.
