It has been a woeful season fo Chelsea as many key players from the clubs Premier league winning team are not turning up and looking like shadows of their former selves. Defensive performances have been poor and the club need to look for a new centre-back if/when long standing captain, John Terry, departs the club at the end of the season.
We’re not even near the summer transfer window yet but the club is already being linked with a number of centre-backs – Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Ranocchia and John Stones. It will not be necessary for the club to look abroad when they can look closer to home; Andreas Christensen could be the man.
The young Danish international has impressed out on loan in his first year at Borussia-Park and has been nothing more than astonishing for the Bundesliga outfit. Â The 19 year has already made his senior national team debut and has been compared to Franz Beckenbauer by Age Hareide.
Christensen is only half way through his two year loan so recalling him could result in Chelsea paying some sort of compensation, which could be Nathan Ake who is impressing out on loan at Watford.
It has not been confirmed whether Ake is joining them in a permanent deal or on loan but only time will tell.
