Chelsea have been given a big boost in their pursuit for the German defender Antonio Rudiger as Roma are reportedly ready to sell the player, Daily Star reports.
The Italian side plan to make the VfB Stuttgart player’s loan deal at Roma permanent for €9 million, and then sell him forward with €30m, as Chelsea and Arsenal are both keen to land the 23-year-old.
It’s reported that the Blues have submitted a written offer to sign the German starlet, but are yet to meet Roma’s asking price.
The incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has asked the club chiefs to line up a bid for Rudiger in the effort of making him a long-term replacement for John Terry.
However, Rudiger recently told to be happy in Italy, but didn’t rule out a move to another club this summer.

The reports claim that Roma are ready to make a profit and negotiate selling Rugider, but remain reluctant of letting Miralem Pjanic and Kostas Manolas go, regardless of Chelsea showing interest on both players.
According to Football Italia, the club are looking to replace the departing Germany international with €20m rated Olympique de Lyonnais defender Samuel Umtiti.
The 22-year-old was recently added to France’s Euro 2016 squad following Jeremy Mathieu’s injury that ruled him out of the competition.
