The former England international Jamie Redknapp has praised the Chelsea skipper John Terry as the Premier League’s greatest ever defender, Daily Mail reports.
Terry’s Chelsea career seems to be over after 18 years at the club, as he got sent off after two yellow cards against Sunderland last weekend to rule him out of the team’s remaining fixtures this season.
The 35-year-old has publicly admitted that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge, but as long as the board is concerned he doesn’t seem to be granted a contract extension.
Chelsea have won 80% of their titles, 71% of FA Cups, 60% of League Cups and 100% UEFA & European Cups during John Terry's time at the club.

Terry’s future with the West London outfit currently hangs in balance ahead of Antonio Conte’s arrival to the club this summer, and Redknapp believes he deserves a new deal.
John Terry has been the best defender we’ve seen in this competition, no question.
The two yellow cards he got at Sunderland were not Terry tackles and I’m sure he will be saddened to miss out on a proper farewell at Stamford Bridge. But when he looks back he can’t be dissatisfied.
Terry has had a career most people dream of. He is a player that guarantees you wins and trophies. And he has won nearly everything there is to win with Chelsea.
He might not be playing but he will get an unbelievable send-off on Sunday and I wouldn’t bet against him still being at the club in some capacity next year. Stranger things have happened.
In the past few years club legends like Petr Cech, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard have all been pushed away from the Chelsea exit door unceremoniously, and it would be an upset for all the Blues fans to see Terry go the same way.
