Antonio Conte wants Oscar to stay at Chelsea

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has told Oscar that he wants him to stay in London with Chelsea, claims The Express.

Oscar looked set to leave the club over the summer with Juventus and multiple clubs from China interested in the 24 year old. It has been reported that the Italian club were ready to offer Chelsea a fee in the region of £20 million too.

However at the end of the season, Oscar made it clear he would like to remain at the club and impress Conte. His career at Chelsea has been largely mixed with the midfielder showing great ability and performances at times but unfortunately never producing them consistently.

It is apparent that Conte wants to maximise his ability and try to get him producing more often which Chelsea fans expect. He has had some memorable performances in a Chelsea shirt such as his first start when he scored a brace and also his amazing curling effort against QPR in our title winning campaign in 2014/15, but these high quality performances haven’t been enough for a player of Chelsea’s standard.

Despite Conte wanting Oscar to stay, a big offer could still change his mind – something Chinese clubs are now capable of with their big financial backing. Clubs from China have been known for paying big fees after Guangzhou Evergrande paid a massive 42 million Euros for Atletico Madrid flop Jackson Martinez.
