This summer, Chelsea are on a mission to secure a centre-back that could bring back the defensive solidity of former years and with John Terry the wrong side of his 30’s, the club will be eager to secure a suitable replacement for the foreseeable future.
The one name of Antonio Conte’s wishlist is Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, but an offer for the Italian has reportedly been rebuffed by the old lady as the amount offered does not reach the 60 Â million euro price tag that the Serie A champions require to attain his signature.
Leonardo Bonucci has a previous record with Chelsea’s incoming coach, having been managed by Conte at Juventus and currently for the Italian national team where he’s slowly become one of the best centre-backs in the world.
With John Terry entering his twilight years, Chelsea are in desperate need of a player with outstanding leadership qualities which makes Bonucci the perfect candidate.
