Chelsea legend, Carlo Cudicini to join Antonio Conte at Chelsea

In reports today, former Blues stopper has been approached by the Chelsea board to join ex-Juventus boss’ backroom team as well as his club ambassador role.

Cudicini won two Premier League titles and FA Cups at Stamford Bridge and took on a role as a club ambassador. Sky Sports Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Italian is in talks with Chelsea over returning to the club full time. Conte said that at the moment he is fully focused on the Euros but preparations are taking place behind the scenes in his absence so that he can get straight into action when Euro competition ends or earlier if Italy get knocked out early.

Cudicini is currently an ambassador at Chelsea but is wanted on a full-time basis as the club’s new keeping coach. Conte reportedly failed to bring all the coaches he wanted to Chelsea and is now seeking the services of Cudicini.

Chelsea is working to improve in all areas not just their squad of players. After appointing Antonio Conte, the Blues are building his coaching staff- one of the most intriguing names is Carlo Cudicini. One more reason for the appointment of Cudicini as the new keeping coach can be the heated up things between Thibaut Courtois and current keeping coach, Christophe Lollichon.

Courtois has been linked with a move away from Chelsea with new boss Antonio Conte taking charge at Stamford Bridge this summer. Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all reportedly interested in the Belgium international, who is valued at a staggering £73million. Courtois has insisted he is happy at Chelsea but his broken relationship with the goal keeping coach could lead to his departure.

Courtois appears to be unhappy working with the 53-year-old as he feels his methods do not suit him.
