Antonio Conte takes first training session with Chelsea

After leading Italy in the European Cup earlier this month, Antonio Conte has officially taken the reigns at Chelsea Football Club, leading his first training session with the team today, having landed in London yesterday.

In what was to be billed as the toughest preseason regime for any of the players participating, Conte has been the talk of the club since his appointment, and with Michy Batshuayi officially signed, and N’Golo Kante seemingly on his way, the team is beginning to take shape with Conte now in the picture, officially.

Conte was seen arriving at Cobham earlier this morning for his first training session with his new team.

Since then we have seen a handful of photos of him with his new team, practicing prior to their preseason tour.

Perhaps the moment that will warm fans hearts the most was when this photo of captain John Terry and Conte arose.

Conte was the first person at Cobham today and was seen introducing himself, and meeting individuals prior to hosting a team meeting before training.

According to Chelsea’s official website, Conte was “heavily involved and very vocal throughout the session, regularly stopping each drill to offer advice and encouragement, both to individual players and the group as a whole.”

Chelsea will be unveiling Conte in a press conference on Thursday, July 14 at 2 p.m. GMT.
