Chelsea submit £50m bid for Lukaku

Having sold Romelu Lukaku to Everton for £28 million back in the summer of 2014, it seems as though the Belgium striker might be on his way back to Stamford Bridge with Roman Abramovich reportedly lining up a €60 million bid to Everton.

The striker fell out of favor previous manager Jose Mourinho, now at Manchester United, but it seems as if Antonio Conte is an admirer of his talents with Chelsea having maintained links to Lukaku all summer long, with rumors of the seal having arisen since early June.

Over 44 appearances last season for Everton, one of which was a substitute appearance in the Barclays Premier League, Lukaku totaled 25 goals, making him one of the most prolific and clinical strikers in England. Alongside those 25 goals, Lukaku totaled six assists while posting a 72.7% pass completion percentage over the course of the season.

While this would be a big transfer should it happen, the move could open the floodgates into what could end up being a Diego Costa exit with Atletico Madrid reportedly hot on the heels of their former striker should he choose to put in a transfer request.
