Fulham sign Chelsea youngster Tomas Kalas

Chelsea have agreed a loan deal from London rivals Fulham for young defender Tomas Kalas, Gazzette Live reports.

The 23-year-old, who signed for Chelsea on 2011, was speculated to be making a return to Middlesborough for his third loan spell.

However he went on to sign a season-long loan at Fulham, and he was honored to have joined to club, he told the club’s official website:

Fulham were really active trying to call me and I was happy to see that interest and that the club wanted me.

I’m happy to sign because when you see the interest, it’s one of the most important things. Middlesbrough was something different and hopefully I’ll play here too.

When I was at Boro nobody expected us to get into the play-offs (in 2014/15) and we did it, and then after the last two seasons that Fulham have had, nobody expects Fulham to get that high. But why not?

Slavisa (Jokanovic) was calling me a few times and he was trying to tell me that they really wanted me. That’s one thing that made me decide to join Fulham.

After a succesful loan spell for Vitesse Arnhem, the Dutchman earned himself a Premier League debut in April 2014 under José Mourinho’s Chelsea side winning Liverpool at Anfield to crush their titlw hopes.
