Antonio Conte hints at more signings

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a happy man, having watched his team cruise to a 3-0 victory over Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Goals from Eden Hazard, Willian and Victor Moses sealed the win for the Blues, who also kept their first clean sheet of the season, as well as their first after 13 games at  home.

Speaking after the match, Conte highlighted the importance of the clean sheet, but also asked that his squad improve even more.

It was a good game and performance and we played good football with good possession.

We created a lot of chances and kept a clean sheet – this is important because after 13 home games without a clean sheet this helps the confidence and shows the hard work is paying off.

We have started very well this season but we must know we can improve.

Hazard, who certainly seems back to his best, was the Man of the Match on the day as Chelsea snatched three wins out of three to send the Blues top. Conte has urged the Belgian to carry on being a key man for Chelsea as the season wears on.

The manager also said that the club would be working hard to bring in new players before the transfer windows closes on Wednesday. Conte has found it hard to recruit his targets this summer, blaming the ‘crazy’ market, but will not give up until the close of the window.

Eden Hazard must be this decisive in every game, and I am pleased because I saw it today, but we must work to improve more.

We are working close together, the club and I, and we are trying to find the right solutions to improve this squad. We have four days to find this, but I am pleased to work with the squad I have.

Chelsea head into the international break with nine points from their first three matches, a marked improvement from last season. But fans will be hoping to see one or two more signings come in during the break.
