Stoke City star boosts Terry to make England comeback

It’s a new era for English football as Sam Allerdyce takes the reigns from Roy Hodgson as national team manager, after the latter announced his resignation after a disastrous Euro 2016 campaign.

But despite it being a new era, the ‘Big Sam’ is reportedly looking to go back in time and attempt to persuade Chelsea captain, John Terry, to come out of retirement and lead his nation once again.

Stoke City midfielder and Scotland international, Charlie Adam, spoke to Sky Sports and believes Terry is still England’s best central defender and reckons the 35-year-old should represent his country once again.

I still think John Terry is the best center-back in England. Age isn’t an issue, he looks after himself tremendously well. – – You look at John Terry’s number of games in the last few years, he is still an outstanding center-half.

Although Terry is in the latter stages of his career, Adam remains adamant that age is just a number and that he remains a role model to the new generation of footballers.

John Terry’s never been the quickest but his experience counts for a lot. Especially for young guys like John Stones.

Charlie Adam also spoke about where Conte stands in the situation and how he thinks Allardyce and Terry will find a solution.

John Terry and Sam Allardyce have obviously had a chat and he is willing to come and try it out I think.

Antonio Conte has come out and said he wouldn’t stand in John Terry’s way either. It would be right to bring him back.
